The Babies of the North Woods is here, and it’s on Amazon now!
Did you know a baby porcupine is called a porcupette? Or that a baby crane is called a colt, just like a baby horse?
I did. And I have a 17-mile drive to elementary school to thank for it.
Every morning, my daughter Erica and I passed the time with what we called the Animal Name Game. We quizzed each other on baby animals, their mommies, and their daddies. In fact, we went deep. What’s a baby boy sheep called? A ram lamb!
Eventually, that car-ride game turned into a coloring book.
